The Stimulus Bill has allocated over $37.6 billion to invest in green energy, which includes $4.5 billion to increase energy efficiency of federal buildings, $6.3 in grants for local conservation and energy efficiency projects, $2.5 billion on energy efficiency and renewable energy research and $6 billion of loans for solar and wind solar.  another $17 billion was devoted for public transportation development. Although the results have yet come to fruitation, these investments hope to create more jobs in the renewable energy, green construction and public transportation section and pave way for a more sustainable way of living in the long run.
