Recent news on the EPA smog regulations have caused the Obama administration into question. Overall, how has it been effective?
When Obama first became president it was thought that he would be the cure-all for the nation’s problems. Some people seemed to think we were electing an emperor rather than a president. That being said, and allowing for the fact that many others hold sway in public policy, there is much to indicate that Obama hasn’t taken very firm stances on environmental issues which he seems to care about. A case in point would be the “Copenhagen Accord”, or the steps he hasn’t taken against mountain-top removal mining. On the other hand, he has delegated billions to clean technology.
In summation I would say that Obama has affected the environmental cause positively. But I would say that it’s a borderline positive.
