How has deforestation in India contributed to flooding in Bangladesh?

The amount of degree of flooding in the Bangladesh area is connected to human activities on the surrounding areas. The lack of trees loosen the soil and it can eventually dry out from the lack of plant life. With this the soil loses it’s ability to absorb water and this can lead to flooding happening easier when the water levels begin to rise close to or above the water table. The environment in the area is naturally set up so that when floods to occur the water runs of into adjacent rivers and streams naturally, but with the landscape dramatically altered because of deforestation the floods become more widespread.
