How has early agriculture affected biodiversity?

Agriculture is largely based on large monoculture plots.  Because of this large areas of biodiversity, such as forests have been cleared for these plots that exist with only one species living on them.  This takes away niches that support biodiversity.  Agriculture has been extremely detrimental to agriculture.
