Pesticides are dangerous for the environment because of the mere fact that they contain significant amounts of dangerous chemicals. The very chemicals that kill your unwanted weeds and insects can also kill or harm plants and animals that you don’t want to be affected.
That being said, humans are also greatly affected by pesticide use. Recent studies have shown that pesticides often run into bodies of water that are used by humans causing a host of problems ranging from brain and prostate cancer to leukemia and pancreatic cancer. What’s more is that pesticides are made up of long lasting chemicals so that they stay in the ground, the water and the environment for much longer than is healthy for any human or animal.
