How is Greenpeace trying to keep heathrow airport from building their third runway?

At the beginning of last year, GreenPeace bought up the piece of land that had been earmarked by the British Government for construction of the planned third runway and sixth terminal.  In an effort to create a legal migraine for the government, GreenPeace divvied up the land into 60,000 small parcels and dispersed them to shareholders around the world.  They plan to build an “impenetrable fortress” on the land.

Greenpeace has purchased the land where the third runway would have gone. The organization is currently working with architects to design what they are calling an “impenetrable fortress” designed to prevent the expansion at Heathrow.
