How green is nuclear power?

According to the “12 principles of green engineering,” nuclear power is anything but green. It violates the principles that state that in order to be green, the power must be “inherently non-hazardous” (nuclear is not) as well as the idea that it must “prevent instead of manage waste.” The list goes on, but put simply, nuclear power is more harmful to the environment than it is helpful.
