How greatly have fish populations been reduced because of dams?

Dams decrease species richness, distribution, and rate of migration. Fish are then exposed to lower variations in environmental conditions, lower spawning rates, and higher rates of predation. Recent dam removals and other efforts have been trying to reverse this. It is not known as to the exact number of fish that have been affected by dams, but perhaps we could say all of them have been reduced.
