To determine the ways GM has become landfill free, we can look at its power plant located in Rosario, Argentina and Fort Wayne, Indiana. GM invests in boilers that use landfill gas to provide up to 21% of energy to its facilities. Its wastewater is cleaned using bacteria that are fed with cafeteria food scraps which is also seperated from other organic wastes to provide fertilizer for facility gardens. They also recycle wood pallets and carboard for us in the homebuilding industry and also for soundproofing in their cars.
