Environmental geography is the study of how humans interact with the natural environment. Looking at the issues from a spatial scale, we can understand the severity of an environmental change like a forest fire or temperature difference between the city and neighboring suburbs or species distribution across an area. The use of GIS and other spatial analysis programs can help us answer these questions.
