Generally the best thing to do is stick it out, food poisoning lasts about a day with violent vomiting and excrement. If it is a rather bad case of food poisoning, hospitalization may occur but the best thing to do is prevent food poisoning by cooking your food thoroughly before consuming.
There a number of different types of food poisoning. Most can just be waited out, which will include it flying out of both ends. Usually if you go to the hospital, you will receive anti-diarrhea and anti-vomiting medications. In severe cases, they may choose to pump your stomach. Additionally if you get food poisoning as a result of bacterial infection of food, your doctor may put you on antibiotics to clear up the infection and fever.
