Mountain lions are very swift creatures. They can reach speeds close to 40 miles per hour. They, like other big cats, will stalk their prey and hunt it down regardless if it runs or climbs.
Mountain lions, also known as cougars, panthers, catamounts, and pumas, can run up to 35 miles per hour. Their vertical leap ability is quite impressive at 18 feet.
