The fastest high speed rail travels at a speed of 245mph. This rail system exists in China and connects 20 cities in central China.
The definition of “high speed” varies when it comes to rail. In the European Union, high speed lines are those equipped to run trains at equal or greater to 250 km/hr. The fastest train in China was completed last year and clocks at 220 miles per hour, or 350 km/hr.
