How fast can giant squid swim?

  1. 0 Votes

Giant squids can jet propel themselves through the water at higher speeds than most other deep-ocean dwelling creatures. These mystical beasts can reach 20 miles per hour underwater. While reaching 40 feet in length and looking much like a gargantuan flying vessel, the sight of a swimming giant squid at this speed has been known to frighten sailors. Perhaps even causing the birth of several interesting myths throughout the years.
