Generally, once a fire begins it can spread at a rate of 14.29 miles per hour. They are mainly caused by the carelessness of humans, such as through campfires, discarding still lit cigarettes and playing with matches. Everything has a temperature where it will burst into flames, or a flash point. The flash point for wood is 572 degrees Farenheit.
