Migration of seals depends on the species of seal. For example, the Northern Fur Seal is found in the north Pacific from the Bering Sea to Southern California and central Japan. Northern Fur Seals are then classified by what island they live on to determine where they migrate to for breeding. Most that live in the north Pacific will migrate off California waters or to the Gulf of Alaska. In general, most seals spend several months a year migrating.
