How far do elephants migrate?

Migrating elephants can weigh between 2 and 7 tons.  These elephants consume between 165 and 330 pounds of food, and 40 to 80 gallons of water.  The theory is that these elephants migrate in order to find areas with high rainfall so that there will be more food.  Some elephants travel up to 600 miles during their migration.
