How far can a pelican fly without flapping its wings?

Pelicans are very beautiful and interesting birds. They are also very large birds, and their light skeletons allows them to fly. To gain speed, they start out running before take off and soar/glide in the air. It has been documented that the Australian Pelican soared to a height of 3,000 meters. Pelicans cal glide very long distances, especially in groups. They use each other’s bodies to block wind resistance. Doing so while traveling under the right conditions in a slight angle of descent, they can glide for hundreds of miles.
