Great question! According to the American Cetacean Society, blue whales can swim at a top speed of 30 miles per hour at short bursts, which is usually during mating or around other whales, however the average speed is at 12 miles per hour. Blue whales, like other baleen whales, are known to migrate according to 25,000 mile patterns annually, so according to such data, a blue whale would swim about 479 miles a week!
