I checked the specifications of various offshore wind farms worldwide, and the spacing ranges from about 500 to 1,000 meters between turbines. The first U.S. offshore wind farm off of Cape Cod placed the turbines 630m by 1,000m away from each other. The Burbo offshore wind farm in Wales spaces them at 500m, claiming that this is a fine distance for recreational boaters to pass through. Likewise, the Kentish Flats Offshore Wind Farm spaces turbines 700m apart.
