The EPA is in the process of finalizing a timeline for greenhouse gas regulations in the US.  They have an estimate of January 2011 to begin regulating power plants, industrial facilities or other stationary sources.  However, the federal government took its first formal step to regulate greenhouse gas emissions by issuing final rules for automobiles and light trucks.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced intention to delay implementing measures that would require power plants and refineries of crude oil to submit to new regulations.  The enforcement of new regulations will be delayed until 2011.  The delay was a response to concerns that the regulations would hurt the economy if implemented too soon.
