The official miles per gallon rating for the Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid is 67.2 mpg – even more efficient than the Toyota Prius. Official ratings for vehicle fuel efficiency have a tendency to over-state how efficient a car will actually be on the road, relying on estimates of how the vehicle would perform under the most ideal circumstances imaginable. Thus, the number 67.2 should perhaps not be taken too seriously, and the Karma will probably prove to be not quite that efficient in actual practice. That said, it looks like the Karma will be one of the most fuel-efficient cars available, and may well turn out to out-do the Prius in terms of miles travelled on a gallon of gas.
