According to the CDC, the influenza vaccine is 70-90% effective in healthy adults at reducing your risk of getting the flu. Of course it is only modified to resist certain strains, (this year it contains N1H1), so you can still get the flu if its a new/different strain. It is less effective for the elderly, young children, and people with compromised immune systems.
