How does water pollution travel through the ocean?

Most ocean pollution is caused by land pollution running off into the ocean, but some of it does come from the air, where particles settle in the water. Much of it stays in the coastal regions where it enters the water, causing what are known as dead zones. Some does follow the ocean currents and are carried to different shores.
