At the most basic level, you can use a waterwheel to harness the energy of flowing water to power a mill. You can also have a hydroelectric dam that generates electricity from the dammed water, or a tidal barrage that generates power from wave motion. Another way to turn water into energy is the conversion of water to hydrogen fuel cells to power hydrogen vehicles.
