How does trash in the streets effect the health of the oceans?

    Trash left in the streets gets washed off by the rain into the ocean and other large bodies of water, depending where runoff flows. Trash can harbor microbes that affect wildlife and people using the beach. Eye infections are common in polluted beaches. Wildlife could ingest the trash because they don’t know any better and die from it. Trash that aren’t biodegradable stays in the water for a very long time, fouling the water quality, like 5 Gyres that is a giant swirling body of trash. Read more at the link below.
