How does the smog pollution affect the everyday citizens of Los Angeles?

    Los Angeles smog can obscure the gorgeous view of the hills surrounding LA. Daily inhalation of smog which contains nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide can lead to respiratory tract infections and asthma. Even though it rains very little in Southern California, smog contributes to acid rain which can rob the soil of nutrients such as magnesium and calcium. Acid rain caused by smog can even cause the paint to peel off of buildings

    Yes, the most critical way in which the LA smog affects citizens is the health risks it poses when inhaled. Exposure to dangerous particles in the smog can shorten the lifespan, and if inhaled by someone with long disease, it can potentially be fatal.
