How does rubber cause pollution?

Due to it being non-biodegradable rubber is very lethal to the environment. It is one of the main contributions to land pollution, besides plastic, glass, bottles, cans and other forms of litter. Rubber plantations release a lot of toxins that have even led to severe disease in places such as Liberia. Due to it running-off and polluting Liberia’s drinking water, outbreaks of skin disease, polluted drinking water and fish being harmful to consume have been the effects of pollution caused by rubber.
