How does the in-road charging system work?

In concept, roads would be fitted with electrical conductors that create magnetic fields.  This would charge your battery powered vehicle as you drive.  Vehicles would have radio chips that would identify your vehicle and bill you appropriately.

This system eliminates many of the common difficulties and headaches associated with EVs (electric vehicles). It extends the range of an EV to be virtually limitless, and there is no need for long charging times or battery exchanges.  The conductors would only be activated when a vehicle is present.
