Recycling saves natural resources by reusing the resources that have already been used. For example, if you recycle a soda can they can reuse the aluminum from that can to make a brand new one, instead of going out and making more aluminum from raw ore. The process uses 95% less energy, 95% less air pollution, and 97% less water pollution.
it saves trees (if you ask about trees) and produses more jobs
A couple of examples are that recycling an aluminum can can save as much energy as it takes to power a television for three hours (by saving energy to mine and create new aluminum cans) and recycling even 1/10 of our newspapers would save 25 million trees!
Recycling greatly reduces the use of timber, water, and minerals. One ton of recycled steel, saves 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,400 pounds of coal, and 120 pounds of limestone.
