Procter & Gamble has adopted a fairly strong environmental policy. They are active in many environmental campaigns, including local environmental projects near its headquarters in Fayetteville, AK. They have agreed to reformulate some of their products with environmentally unfriendly ingredients, and they have been marketing their products with less packaging.
Even so, it’s important to remember than any multi-million-dollar global corporation has a massive carbon footprint, no matter what the product…for shipping, advertising, manufacture, etc. It’s always better to look to local, smaller businesses–or make your own cleaning products!
