It isn’t that ocean life affects ocean currents, it’s that ocean currents affect ocean life. The ocean currents are dictated by solar heating, gravity, and winds. Since these are large natural forces, ocean life has little to no effect on them. However, currents can be very beneficial to marine life. Upwelling currents bring nutrients from the deep waters nearer the surface. Marine life thrives where these currents exist.
