How does ocean acidification kill fish species?

    Ocean Acidification is caused by the ocean absorbing too much CO2 from the atmosphere. The CO2 dissolves in the sea water, forming carbonic acid. This acid decreases the ability of some marine organisms to build shells and skeletal structures, and other calcifiers.
