how does making skateboards affect the environment?

I’d imagine that they aren’t all that environmentally friendly to create. Most skateboards mainly consist of wood and small metals, which require a lot of natural resources to make. In order to gain wood, one would have to chop down many trees to meet the skateboard demand. The wheels are made out of a material called polyurethane, which isn’t recycled due to the high costs. The link at the bottom better explains the process of making a skateboard.
