How does liquid coal work?

Not very well, apparently. Liquid coal can be made by direct liquefaction or turned into a gas and then a liquid. Both processes produce carbon dioxide emissions, and are not environmentally friendly.

The Sierra Clus says that “Liquid coal releases almost double the global warming emissions per gallon as regular gasoline”
