How does hunters using non-leaded bullets have any effect on the environment?

Using non-leaded bullets should decrease poisonous toxins among wildlife. When animals consume carcasses and the discarded remains of wild game shot with lead bullets or fragmented bullets and subsequently enter the food chain as they are consumed by other animals.
If fewer animals are dying from lead poisoning, there may be some “negative” effects within the environment…for instance, farmers may have to contend with more pervasive deer popuulations eating and destroying their crops.
