Honeycomb is made out of wax that is produced by honey bees. There are wax glands on the bee’s abdomen that the bee bites off and chews until it gets soft. It is then added to the honeycomb. The honeycomb is made so that honey made from flower nectar can be stored in each small hole (called a cell) and sealed off with more wax.
