How does grilling your food add to air pollution?

Grilling food is a pretty insignificant portion of air pollution. Technically, however, burning fossil fuel is bad for air quality. Burning the charcoal, wood, or catching the meat on fire can release toxins into the air which will dissipate quickly but standing over the grill and breathing in the fumes is not good for anyone.
