How does “green” concrete differ from regular concrete?

Green concrete differs from regular concrete as it is a pervious surface. Regular concrete is an impervious surface which does not allow for stormwater to be absorbed into the earth; instead stormwater “runs off” the concrete carrying pollutants along with it into lakes, rivers and streams. Pervious surfaces allow stormwater to be directly absorbed into groundwater, therefore reducing the amount of runoff.
