How does the government bust people that are breaking environmental laws?

The U.S. government has given people and private organizations the power to bust people breaking environmental laws through a legal procedure called a “citizen suit.”  This gives individuals the right to place a law suit against a party on the grounds that the party is harming the environment.  Citizen suits even allow citizens to bring government bodies to court on the basis that they’re violating environmental law.

Virtually all federal and state environmental laws contain clauses providing private citizen the power to bring forth a suit.
