How does frost affect crops?

Frost affects different plants differently. Some that are sensitive to frost, and will die if overexposed, are tomatoes and grapevines. Root vegetables such as carrots and radishes tend to be less affected. In other plants, only the fruit (the part most crop growers are really interested in) will go bad.
