How does food abundance impact evolution in wild animals (i.e. for birds, due to the availability of feeders in Winter)?

One of the most common ways animals avoid food scarcity in certain weather conditions is through the phenomenon known as migration. Common in everything from mammals to birds, this allows large populations of animals to move in search of food as seasons like winter make food a real problem. Even on the African Savannah, animals road the grasslands in search of the greenest pastures and fresh water to support themselves.
