How does electricity effect magnets?

  1. 0 Votes

There is a type of magnet called an electromagnet, which helps create a magnetic field when electricity is applied. The magnet does not operate unless there is electricity, which gives it all of the attraction and repulsion properties of a regular magnet at the flip of a switch. These have applications like generating energy, or those huge plate magnets you see at the end of cranes used to lift up large metal objects.
