Mainly, conserving water helps to keep the natural water cycle doing what it is supposed to. If too much water is used, this cycle can be thrown off, which may be the cause of erratic weather patterns. Also, an average household’s water use can increase their carbon footprint. Appliances that use water also use power, and usually a water heater. It also take energy to get the water from the source to the home, and then energy to treat wastewater. Conserving water will not directly benefit global warming, but does in the end.
