The Clean Water Act makes sure that surface waters are not polluted. If water is contaminated, The CWA works to manage those polluted waters through facilities management. It is meant basically to make sure that the water we drink is clean and has the acceptable concentration of chemicals as people are employed to test water purity and chemical concentrations. In past years, there has been controversy as to how effective the CWA is.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency uses the Clean Water Act to regulate surface water. This means that the EPA sets standards for what can be put in water, in what quantities, and where. People that break these regulations must face legal action brought on by the EPA.
