There is very little scientific evidence pointing to any negative side effects Botox has on pregnant women and their unborn child. The reason for such a lack of scientific data is because doctors would have to give Botox to pregnant women. Researcher tend to stay away from studies which can lead to unwanted complications in this situation. Doctors believe there is no link between Botox and pregnancy due to the fact that Botox is a locally active agent. This means that it’s effects are usually limited to the area where it is injected. However, most doctors recommend that women don’t use Botox when pregnant due to the fact that there is not much evidence to support any claim.
