How does the border between the United States and Mexico hurt the environment?

  1. 0 Votes

The areas on both sides of the US-Mexico border suffer from environmental degradation. 14 metropolitan areas along the border are experiencing rapid population growth and have poor air and water quality. They also experience illegal dumping, inadequate water supplies, insufficient waste and agricultural runoff exposure. The presence of the actual border in some areas also segments the ecosystem and inhibits the movement of animals as well as people.
