How does the bloom box create energy?

The Bloom Box, invented by K.R. Sridhar, is an energy-generation system based on fuel cells. Each individual fuel cell is in the shape of a square about the size of a CD that is covered on both sides with a material – the formula of this remaining a secret. One side is given oxygen while the other side receives fuel (which may be biogas or natural gas), causing a chemical reaction to occur and generate electricity. Arranging a bunch of these CD-sized cells together creates the Bloom Box, capable of generating power equal to 100 kilowatts. If the fuel used to feed the cell is a renewable type, this makes the energy produced 100% clean. Therefore, through a chemical reaction between oxygen, fuel and the mystery formula, energy is created. The full details of this sophisticated chemical reaction have not yet been revealed to the world.
