How does the army use biofuel?

The US Navy is testing biofuel for use in airplane and ship engines. The army developed a Tactical Garbage to Energy Refinery (TGER), which generates syngas from solid waste and biofuel (alcohol) from food slops, then combines the two to create biodiesel that is used to power a generator. So biofuel is being tested for use both for electricity generation and as vehicle fuel, although it is not yet used on a wide scale.
