Lets see. If one uses the iPad as an e-reader, lap top replacement and maybe even as an iPod while working on it it could help the environment. Rather than needing three gadgets, you could use just one (and I am sure the iPad has many more uses than this, would love to try one out myself). Using it as an e-reader will also remove production and shipping costs for books thus saving trees and gas.
In terms of the ipad being an electronic gadget, it is pretty eco friendly. It is one of the most efficient and one of the lightest (= less materials and resources) “computers”. It is also free of mercury, arsenic, and BFRs. Because it is also PVC free, it is considered highly recyclable.
